Chiayi authorities intensify traffic safety education and fine enforcement

Authorities in Chiayi are intensifying efforts to improve road safety through driver education and strict enforcement of traffic penalties. The Chiayi Motor Vehicles Office recently conducted safety training for freight drivers, focusing on preventing driving under the influence (DUI) and improving defensive driving techniques. The program, supported by the Chiayi City Police Department, emphasizes that drivers who refuse drug tests or drive under the influence face severe consequences, including vehicle seizure, license revocation, and potential lifetime driving bans.

In a separate enforcement action, the Chiayi Branch of the Administrative Enforcement Agency successfully recovered over 70,000 TWD in unpaid traffic fines from a resident in Yunlin County. The individual had accumulated fines for unlicensed driving and other violations but failed to adhere to a payment plan. Following the seizure of the individual's real estate, a family member living abroad settled the full amount to prevent the auction of ancestral property. These actions align with regional policies aimed at strengthening road safety and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
