Chiayi City’s disabled sports team returned from the 115th National Disability Sports Games with a historic haul of 23 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals – an increase of eight golds over the previous edition. Deputy Mayor Lin Rui‑yan, representing Mayor Huang Min‑hui, presented a total NT$4.32 million in prize money to the athletes and their coaches at a celebration ceremony.

The city also raised support measures, increasing the daily accommodation subsidy to NT$1,200 per person and reimbursing travel costs at high‑speed‑rail rates. Education Director Guo Tian‑cai highlighted the city’s commitment to expanding special‑Olympic sports and improving training resources for athletes with disabilities.

The awards aim to recognize the athletes’ dedication, encourage broader participation in disabled sports, and strengthen Chiayi’s standing in future national competitions.
