Chiayi City Children’s Art Exhibition Highlights Local Landscape

From August 29 to August 1, the Wu Feng Kindergarten in Chiayi City hosted a three‑day children’s art exhibition titled “Wu Feng Art Home – Beautiful Chiayi, Art Feast in My City” at the Chiayi City Vision Center. The show featured paintings, mixed‑media pieces, board‑game designs and picture‑book creations made by the kindergarten’s pupils, depicting streets, daily life and imaginative scenes of their hometown.

Chiayi City Mayor Huang Min‑hui stressed that aesthetic education should begin in early childhood and that the city aims to make “the whole city a classroom.” The municipal Education Department, led by Director Guo Tiancai, supports such initiatives through programmes like the “Pei Star Project,” which funds schools to develop distinctive curricula. Kindergarten principal Luo Yuling highlighted the integration of local culture and art into the curriculum, while alumni from the previous year returned to share their works, adding an inter‑generational dimension to the exhibition.

The event was open to the public, allowing residents to view the children’s perspectives on Chiayi’s landscape and to experience the city’s commitment to nurturing creativity and observation skills among its youngest citizens.
