Chiayi City honors food safety award winners

The Chiayi City Government held an awards ceremony to recognize excellence in food hygiene and safety management. Mayor Huang Min-hui honored 76 restaurants for achieving excellent or good hygiene ratings, 65 businesses that received the prestigious ‘Golden Quality Award’ for two consecutive terms, and 29 winners of the ‘Golden Shake Award’ for beverages and ice products.

To support the local economy and tourism, the city reported that business sales have reached record highs for seven consecutive years, with the accommodation and catering sectors growing by 7.41%. The health bureau utilized professional evaluations, including microbiological testing and environmental inspections, to ensure high standards. Additionally, 17 businesses were recognized as ‘Elderly-Friendly Food Safety Stores’ for providing nutritious and accessible dining environments for seniors.

To encourage consumer participation, the city launched a promotional lucky draw. From September 1 to October 31, customers who spend at least 1,000 TWD at certified award-winning establishments can enter for a chance to win prizes, including trips to Japan, laptops, and dining vouchers.
