Chiayi County completes 12.1 million TWD upgrade of Fengtianyan Temple rest area

The Chiayi County Government has officially completed a 12.1 million TWD renovation project at Fengtianyan Temple in Zhuqi Township. Located along the Mount Lilong national hiking trail, the temple serves as a popular rest stop for hikers due to the local community's tradition of providing free tea and cooking facilities.

The renovation, part of the ‘Settlement Highlight Creation Project,’ focused on improving scenery, convenience, and sanitation. Key upgrades include the removal of an old stage to create a more open courtyard, the installation of new floor tiles, and the addition of white electric rain shelters. Other improvements include modernized public restrooms, a redesigned shared kitchen, and new storage cabinets for tea sets.

County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang attended the opening ceremony, noting that the project was initiated to enhance the quality of the environment for the many tourists visiting the area. The project is one of three sites targeted under the current year's development plan, which also includes Guanyin Waterfall and Taiping Old Street in Meishan Township.
