Chiayi County launches youth development and drug prevention programs
Chiayi County is implementing various community-based programs aimed at supporting youth development and promoting healthy lifestyles.
The Budai Social Welfare Service Center, in collaboration with World Vision Taiwan, recently hosted a summer program titled ‘Relationship Learning Class.’ This eight-day initiative focuses on gender equality, legal knowledge, and interpersonal boundaries to help adolescents build positive self-concepts and healthy social relationships through experiential learning.
Simultaneously, the Chiayi County Government Youth Counseling Committee organized an anti-drug event at Dongshi Fisherman's Wharf. The event, which combined an electronic music party with Beyblade competitions, utilized the ‘Icelandic Prevention Model’ of providing positive leisure activities to discourage drug use. Local musicians and social workers participated to engage youth in a non-traditional, interactive environment designed to foster healthy interests and community connection.
