Chiayi County promotes slow travel for Mid-Autumn Festival

The Chiayi County Cultural and Tourism Bureau has released recommendations for travelers looking to enjoy a “slow travel” experience during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.

For mountain enthusiasts, the bureau suggests visiting Shizilu Station to experience the forest railway atmosphere at Shizi Mingxin Coffee, a renovated old house where visitors can enjoy high-mountain coffee while watching trains pass. Another option is Wuli Village x Baiguan Tea, which offers views of terraced tea gardens and handmade tea snacks.

Coastal and lakeside attractions are also highlighted. The Qingfeng Taoyue Scenic Restaurant near Renyi Dam Reservoir offers a Japanese-style dining environment with foot baths and sunset views over the lake. For those heading to the coast, Hiwave Coffee in Budai provides an American camping-style atmosphere along Highway 17, where visitors can enjoy coffee and sea breezes while watching the sunset.
