Chiayi hosts ‘Time in a Teapot’ pottery exhibition

The pottery exhibition ‘Time in a Teapot’ opened on September 13 at the Bodhi Building of Dizang An in Chiayi. The event features works by ten creators who all studied under the renowned pottery master Lin Chun-hui at the Chun Hui Pottery Studio.

The exhibition focuses on the aesthetic of hand-kneaded teapots, utilizing the ‘kneading and wheel-throwing’ technique. This method requires precise control over clay characteristics and significant patience to create unique textures and forms. The displayed works range from elegant, flowing lines to modern, minimalist shapes and raw, rustic textures.

Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui attended the opening, noting that the exhibition merges tea culture with generational heritage and cultural education. The exhibition is scheduled to run until September 29.
