Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui Opens Baseball Game and Arts Festival

Chiayi City hosted two major community events in July 2026. On July 14, the city’s KANO Baseball Stadium welcomed the Chinatrust Brothers as the home team for the first time, with Mayor Huang Min-hui throwing the opening pitch alongside Chinatrust deputy chairman Gao Ying-jie. The mayor highlighted Chiayi’s historic role in Taiwanese baseball and pledged continued cooperation to promote the sport.

Later in July, the city launched the inaugural “2026 Tao Xi Parent‑Child Arts Festival,” running from July 25 to August 9. The festival features performances by local ensembles, percussion concerts by the Zhu Zongqing Percussion Group, youth music concerts, workshops, and a market. Mayor Huang described the event as a blend of performing arts, music, and interactive experiences aimed at fostering artistic appreciation among children and families.

Both events underscore Chiayi’s effort to position itself as a hub for sports and cultural activities, engaging residents and visitors alike.
