Chiba and Fukui launch relief efforts following heavy rainfall

Following heavy rainfall in August 2026 that caused significant damage in Chiba and Fukui prefectures, various organizations have launched initiatives to support reconstruction and relief efforts.

In Chiba, Chiiki Shinbun Co., Ltd. has initiated a crowdfunding project via READYFOR to collect donations for the Chiba Heavy Rain Disaster Relief Fund. The company is leveraging its network of 34 regional media outlets, reaching approximately 15 million households, to spread awareness and solicit support across Japan. The project aims to collect 1 million yen, with all proceeds being donated to the prefecture.

In Fukui, First Innovation Co., Ltd. and the association Tsunagari Ouen have launched a dedicated website to assist businesses and local communities affected by the heavy rains starting August 29, 2026. The platform provides consultation services for those looking to use crowdfunding to rebuild shops or local activities. The initiative offers support in planning, page creation, and publicizing projects on the CAMPFIRE platform, while also providing links to official public assistance information from Fukui Prefecture.
