Chiba high school baseball teams prepare for autumn tournaments

High school baseball teams in Chiba Prefecture are preparing for upcoming autumn tournaments.

Toyo High School's baseball club recently competed in the second round of the 79th Autumn Chiba Prefecture High School Baseball Tournament primary qualifiers. Facing Seibi Gakuen High School at ZA Baseball Park, Toyo High School lost the match 0-7. Despite holding a scoreless defense through the second inning, the team conceded runs in the third, fifth, sixth, and eighth innings. The team plans to focus on addressing individual and collective challenges during their upcoming loser's bracket matches to aim for the prefectural tournament.

Meanwhile, the soft baseball club at Clark Memorial International High School, Chiba Campus, is conducting intensive training sessions in preparation for their autumn tournament. The new team is prioritizing fundamental skills, including catching, fielding, and batting. Despite extreme heat, the club is maintaining practice schedules with a focus on heatstroke prevention and team communication to build unity before their first match in approximately one month.
