Chiba Lotte Marines player HARUTO to suspend activities for medical treatment

The Chiba Lotte Marines have announced that HARUTO (Akagi Haruto), a participant in the team’s social contribution project ‘MARINES LINKS’, will suspend his team activities for approximately six months to focus on medical treatment and recovery.

HARUTO joined the team in March through the ‘TEAMMATES’ program, operated by the NPO Being ALIVE Japan, which supports children undergoing long-term medical treatment by allowing them to participate as members of sports teams. Following consultations with his family and primary physician, it was determined that prioritizing his health is necessary. While a return to activities is tentatively planned for around the spring of 2027, the schedule remains subject to his recovery progress.

Marines manager Subero expressed support, stating that the team considers HARUTO a member of the Marines and will wait for his healthy return to the stadium.
