Chiba relief efforts launched following August heavy rains

Following the heavy rains in Chiba Prefecture in August 2026, various organizations have launched relief initiatives to support recovery and affected residents.

The Chiba no WA Regional Development Fund has opened the ‘Chiba Disaster Support Fund’ to provide grants to NPOs and community groups. Unlike direct relief payments, this fund focuses on supporting the activities of local organizations that address specific needs such as food security, childcare, elderly monitoring, and information services for foreign residents.

Cochlear Japan has announced a support program for individuals using artificial hearing devices in areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act. The company is offering free replacement of sound processors and various accessories to ensure communication remains possible during the recovery period.

Additionally, Cultive Co., Ltd. has launched emergency disaster support pages for municipalities within Chiba Prefecture through its ‘river’ platform. This allows corporations to utilize the ‘corporate version of hometown tax donation’ (kigyo-ban furusato nozei) to provide immediate and long-term financial assistance to local governments.
