Chibudom Nwuche calls for amnesty for Orashi militants

Chibudom Nwuche, Chairman of the Governing Board of the South-South Development Commission, has called on the Federal Government to implement an amnesty programme for repentant cultists and militant youths in the Orashi area of Rivers State.

Speaking through a representative at a folklore event in Ahoada East, Nwuche highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the Orashi region, which includes Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Abua/Odual, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas. He noted that the region has faced significant violence, including the killing of a Divisional Police Officer.

Nwuche urged the Office of the National Security Adviser to facilitate a programme focused on the rehabilitation, reorientation, and reintegration of these youths to restore peace and security to the affected communities.
