Chicago Bears evaluate two potential stadium sites in Indiana

The Chicago Bears are intensifying their search for a new stadium location in northwest Indiana. Team President Kevin Warren confirmed that the franchise has secured at least one viable site in Hammond and is currently conducting due diligence on a second location, the Wolf Lake Terminal. There is a possibility that the team may merge the “Lost Marsh” and Wolf Lake Terminal sites into a single development.

While the team previously considered Arlington Heights, Illinois, for an enclosed stadium, leadership stated their current focus is on the Indiana development. Chairman George McCaskey emphasized that the team will retain the “Chicago Bears” name regardless of the final location.

The shift toward Indiana follows legislative hurdles in Illinois regarding financial support for a new stadium. Although the Bears' current lease at Soldier Field runs through 2033, the team maintains the option to pay a fee to terminate the agreement early.
