Chicago Bears face quarterback shortage ahead of Eagles game

The Chicago Bears are facing a significant quarterback shortage heading into their Week 3 Monday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Starter Caleb Williams is sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during a recent game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent has also been impacted, having entered the NFL concussion protocol. While Bagent has advanced through the protocol enough to return to practice, he has not officially cleared it, leaving his availability for Monday uncertain.

If both Williams and Bagent are unable to play, the Bears will rely on 38-year-old veteran Case Keenum to lead the offense. Keenum, who has 11 years of NFL experience, has not started a regular-season game since 2023. Bears head coach Ben Johnson has expressed confidence in Keenum’s ability to manage the game due to his extensive experience and mental processing skills.
