Chicago Bears linked to cornerback trades ahead of NFL deadline

The Chicago Bears are reportedly exploring trade options to bolster their secondary ahead of the NFL trade deadline. While the team previously made a significant move for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, league insiders suggest that addressing the cornerback position has become a priority for general manager Ryan Poles.

One potential target is Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Donte Jackson. Jackson could serve as a more affordable rental option compared to high-profile edge rusher Khalil Mack, though his recent hamstring injury may complicate negotiations.

The search for defensive depth follows struggles at the cornerback position, where players such as Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson have faced challenges. The team is also monitoring availability across other teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, and New York Jets, to find suitable replacements or additions to the defensive backfield.
