Chicago Bears negotiate long-term extension for tackle Darnell Wright

Chicago Bears right tackle Darnell Wright, a second‑team All‑Pro, is in talks for a multi‑year contract extension. The team picked up his fifth‑year option this spring, keeping him under control through the 2027 season, but aims to lock in a new deal before the regular season begins. Wright told reporters he expects to stay in Chicago for the long term and that the timing of a new contract “doesn’t really matter” to him.
