Chicago Bears re-sign rookie long snapper Beau Gardner
The Chicago Bears have re-signed rookie long snapper Beau Gardner to their practice squad. Gardner was released just two days prior following public criticism from head coach Ben Johnson regarding high snaps during the team’s Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Johnson had noted that the operation was not clean, specifically citing a high snap that contributed to a blocked field goal. The team had briefly replaced Gardner with veteran Scott Daly before deciding to bring the 24-year-old back to the organization.
The roster move comes as the Bears prepare for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team faces additional challenges heading into the game, as quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to be unavailable.
