Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift faces injury concerns and contract decisions
Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift is entering the final year of his contract, prompting general manager Ryan Poles to consider a potential extension. Poles expressed high regard for Swift’s work ethic and performance, noting that the team will evaluate how to allocate resources for both current and future seasons.
However, Swift’s preparations have faced setbacks. During a recent training camp practice, Swift left the session with an apparent left leg injury. The injury comes at a time when the Bears' backfield depth is already being tested, as backup Kyle Monangai is also sidelined with a knee injury.
In addition to Swift, wide receiver Rome Odunze also left practice with a suspected right leg injury. The team is currently managing several other roster concerns, including defensive lineman Shemar Turner, who remains on the physically unable-to-perform list following an ACL injury last season.
