Chicago Bears to start third-string left tackle amid injuries

The Chicago Bears will start third-string left tackle Theo Benedet in their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets following a series of injuries at the position.

Braxton Jones has been placed on injured reserve after sustaining a knee injury during a Week 3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones is expected to miss at least four games. He joins Ozzy Trapilo, who remains sidelined recovering from a torn patellar tendon sustained in January.

In addition to the offensive line changes, the Bears have made defensive roster moves by promoting defensive end Marcus Davenport and cornerback Nick McCloud from the practice squad to the active roster.
