Chicago Bears wide‑receiver corps praised by Steve Smith Sr

Former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. said the Chicago Bears now have one of the league’s strongest wide‑receiver groups. Speaking on the “89 Show” podcast and his YouTube channel, he highlighted rookie Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III, noting their combined 1,303 yards and eight touchdowns last season despite injuries and limited targets. Smith added that the talent surrounding quarterback Caleb Williams and tight end Colston Loveland gives the Bears a potent offensive mix.

Smith expressed confidence in head coach Ben Johnson’s system, stating, “There is NO defense that Ben Johnson is scared of with this #BearsWR Room.” He projected the Bears could contend for the NFC title and potentially win the division if the passing game matches the run game’s consistency.
