Chicago Blackhawks defeat Minnesota Wild in preseason overtime thriller

The Chicago Blackhawks secured a 4-3 overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild in their first preseason home game at the United Center. Bowen Byram led the Blackhawks with a hat trick, including the decisive overtime goal. The game saw early scoring from Minnesota’s Bobby Brink, but Chicago responded through Nick Lardis and Byram.

In a separate preseason matchup, the Blackhawks also faced the Wild in a 3-2 loss. During that contest, defenseman Kevin Korchinski participated as the team evaluates its roster. Korchinski, a former 7th overall pick, has spent significant time with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs to refine his skills and is currently viewed as a prospect competing for a permanent NHL role amidst veteran additions to the Blackhawks' defense.
