Chicago Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson sets sights on Rookie of the Year

The Chicago Bulls selected forward Caleb Wilson with the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The 20‑year‑old, who averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks in 24 games for North Carolina, told reporters, “I expect to have Rookie of the Year, honestly,” and added that he intends to work hard and fit into the team’s style.

Wilson also said he aspires to be “one of the GOATs,” referencing Michael Jordan and expressing a desire to become the greatest player ever for the franchise. The Bulls, coming off a 31‑51 season without a playoff appearance since 2014‑15, have hired Bryson Graham as vice‑president of basketball operations and Tiago Splitter as head coach, emphasizing defense as the team’s “calling card.”

Alongside Wilson’s selection, the Bulls added first‑round pick Dailyn Swain and secured a minority stake purchase by Lukas Walton. Roster moves this offseason include a three‑team trade for big man Nic Claxton, the exercised $2.4 million option on Leonard Miller, and the departure of Australian forward Lachlan Olbrich. These actions give the Bulls over $30 million in cap flexibility heading into the 2026‑27 season.
