Milwaukee Brewers clinch series win over St. Louis Cardinals

The Milwaukee Brewers captured four of five games in a mid‑July 2026 National League Central series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Highlights included an 8‑4 victory on Thursday, where Jake Bauers hit a three‑run homer and Brice Turang added a solo blast, and a 4‑3 rally win in the seventh inning of Game 1 of a doubleheader. Jacob Misiorowski recorded 11 strikeouts in the doubleheader sweep, while Christian Yelich drove in two runs in the opening game.

Pitcher Kyle Harrison, who entered the Wednesday matchup with a 2.82 ERA and an 8‑1 record, left after four innings due to soreness in the outside of his elbow. He reported the discomfort was minor and not a cause for immediate concern, with the All‑Star break providing recovery time. The series also saw left‑hander Justin Bruihl of the Cardinals and third‑base prospect David Hamilton of the Brewers exit with injuries.

Overall, the Brewers' offense produced 11 hits in the 8‑4 win and continued strong performance throughout the series, while the Cardinals managed only five hits in their lone victory, a 5‑1 loss featuring home runs from Alec Burleson and José Fermín.
