Chicago Fire signs Robert Lewandowski; Cuypers transferred to Monterrey

Chicago Fire announced the signing of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and confirmed the transfer of Belgian forward Hugo Cuypers to Club de Futbol Monterrey in Mexico's Liga MX. Cuypers left the MLS club after scoring 13 goals in 11 matches, topping the league's scoring chart. The move came amid mixed fan reactions to Lewandowski’s arrival and speculation about his role in the team.

Polish midfielder Dawid Poręba, also on Chicago Fire’s roster, was named MVP of the MLS Next Pro season after netting 22 goals and winning the league’s top‑scorer award. He has signed a contract with the Fire’s first team but is still rehabilitating from a torn ACL, aiming to play alongside Lewandowski and hoping for a future call‑up to the Poland national team.
