Chicago Fire winning streak ends ahead of Leagues Cup clash with Monterrey

Chicago Fire's recent winning streak has come to an end following a match at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey. Despite a spectacular goal from Maren Haile-Selassie in the 38th minute, the team was unable to maintain their momentum.

Ahead of the match, coach Gregg Berhalter opted to start Robin Lod instead of Robert Lewandowski. While Lewandowski eventually entered the game in the 65th minute to significant crowd reaction, he was unable to change the outcome. The match concluded with Cameron Harper scoring a header from an Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting cross to equalize, ending Chicago Fire's run of six consecutive victories.

The result sets the stage for an upcoming Leagues Cup quarterfinal clash between Chicago Fire and CF Monterrey.
