Chicago hosts SOCAP conference and 2026 Chicago Marathon

Chicago is hosting two major events in October 2026: the SOCAP conference and the Chicago Marathon.

SOCAP, which has moved from San Francisco to Chicago, will feature various tracks focused on impact investing, including climate-resilient agriculture, women in funding, and expanding ownership models. Sessions will include discussions on biological solutions for farmland and veteran skill transitions into business.

The Chicago Marathon will feature several notable participants, including former Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and former teammate Jake Arrieta. Rizzo is making his marathon debut to support the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children battling cancer and their families.
