Chicago hosts various cultural and architectural events in late October 2026

Chicago features a variety of cultural, seasonal, and architectural events during the weekend of October 23–25, 2026.

The Chicago Architecture Center organizes Open House Chicago, an annual festival providing public access to historic and unique buildings, including sites that survived the Great Chicago Fire. Participants can explore diverse locations such as urban farms, historic churches, and public housing sites.

Other scheduled activities include the Chicago International Film Festival and several Halloween-themed events, such as the Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade, Zoo Brews: Howls and Growls, and the BOO-seum Bash at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Seasonal markets like the Day of the Dead Market and the Autumn AAPI Market are also slated to take place.
