Chicago man convicted of child sex trafficking in Indiana
A federal jury in Terre Haute, Indiana, has convicted 31-year-old Jacquez “Joc” Brown of sex trafficking a minor, sexual exploitation of a child, and three counts of distributing child sexual abuse material.
The case originated on December 14, 2022, when Vigo County 911 received an emergency text message reporting that a 15-year-old girl was being prostituted at a Super 8 Motel. Terre Haute Police Department officers responded and located the victim in a room with Brown.
Evidence presented during the three-day trial showed that Brown compelled the minor to engage in commercial sex acts for his financial benefit. Prosecutors also demonstrated that Brown took sexually explicit photographs of the victim and distributed them to multiple individuals to entice them to pay for sex with the minor. Digital forensics and advertisements linked Brown to the ongoing exploitation.
