Chicago Med announces Season 12 cast and premiere date

NBC has announced the return of the medical drama ‘Chicago Med’ for its 12th season, scheduled to premiere on October 7. The core cast will return to Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, including Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles, S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin, Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher, Steven Weber as Dr. Dean Archer, Luke Mitchell as Dr. Mitch Ripley, Sarah Ramos as Dr. Caitlin Lenox, and Darren Barnet as Dr. John Frost.

Season 12 will pick up several months after the events of Season 11. Key plotlines include Dr. Archer and Dr. Asher navigating new parenthood following the birth of their daughter, Mabel. Additionally, the relationship between Dr. Charles and Sharon Goodwin is expected to be strained following accusations that Goodwin leaked private medical records.

Due to real-life pregnancy, actress Sarah Ramos will have a reduced presence during the early episodes of the season. The series continues to be produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment.
