Chicago police investigate multiple armed robbery series

Chicago police are investigating multiple series of armed robberies occurring across different sections of the city.

In the Bronzeville and Lake Meadows areas, authorities reported several late-night incidents throughout August. Suspects, described as three men and one woman wearing hooded sweatshirts, have been targeting victims to steal mobile phones. In these cases, assailants reportedly demanded that victims unlock their devices before fleeing on foot.

Separately, detectives are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect linked to at least seven armed robberies on the city’s Northwest Side. These incidents, occurring between late July and late August, have taken place in neighborhoods including Avondale, Portage Park, Albany Park, and Logan Square. Police have released a photo of the suspect, described as a heavy-set man in dark clothing, and are reviewing surveillance footage from recent robberies.
