Chicago reports at least 17 shootings and four deaths over a weekend
A series of shootings in Chicago from Friday through Sunday morning resulted in at least 17 people being shot and four fatalities.
In the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, a shooting in the 6100 block of South Campbell Avenue early Sunday morning left a 30-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to the head and a 27-year-old man in critical condition with multiple torso wounds.
Other fatal incidents reported during this period include the death of a 48-year-old woman on Saturday night, a 34-year-old man shot while inside an SUV in the Englewood neighborhood, and a 25-year-old who died from a head wound in the 13100 block of South Langley Avenue. Authorities are continuing to investigate these incidents as part of ongoing efforts to address violence in the city.
