Chicago White Sox defeat Cleveland Guardians 6-3
The Chicago White Sox defeated the Cleveland Guardians 6-3, snapping a season-worst four-game losing streak. The victory increases Chicago's lead in the AL Central to three games over Cleveland and Minnesota.
Following a scoreless duel through five innings, Cleveland took a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning via a two-run home run from Rhys Hoskins. The White Sox responded immediately in the same inning with a five-run rally. Munetaka Murakami hit his 26th home run of the season to cut the deficit, and Tristan Peters drove in two runs with a double after reliever Colin Holderman loaded the bases via hit batsmen. Chase Meidroth added an RBI single to complete the surge.
Gavin Williams earned the loss for Cleveland despite striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings. Anthony Kay earned the win for Chicago, allowing two runs in six innings. Grant Taylor secured the save in the ninth inning.
