Chicago White Sox Partner with TOTO for Murakami Bobblehead Day
The Chicago White Sox announced a partnership with Japanese bathroom‑fixture maker TOTO, making the company the presenting sponsor of the Munetaka Murakami "First Major League Home Run" Bobblehead Day on July 26. Murakami, who joined the team from Japan, asked that a bidet be installed in the clubhouse to keep his home‑country routine, prompting the club to contact TOTO. TOTO equipped the White Sox clubhouse at Rate Field with its Washlet bidet seats and set up a mobile showroom for fans.
During the game against the Houston Astros, the first 15,000 fans received a limited‑edition Murakami bobblehead sponsored by TOTO, and the club highlighted the new fixtures on in‑stadium signage. Teammates tried the bidets and spread excitement, drawing attention from both U.S. and Japanese media to the unusual cross‑cultural sponsorship.
