Chicago White Sox lead Cleveland Guardians 2-0 in ALDS
The Chicago White Sox have taken a 2-0 lead in the American League Division Series after defeating the Cleveland Guardians 4-3 on Monday. The victory marks the White Sox's fourth consecutive win in the postseason, all achieved as the visiting team.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning due to a defensive error, Chicago rallied in the fourth inning with an RBI single from Munetaka Murakami. The decisive blow came in the sixth inning when Braden Montgomery hit a two-run double to give the White Sox a 3-2 lead. Chase Meidroth later added an RBI single to extend the advantage to 4-2.
Cleveland's Gavin Williams delivered a strong performance, striking out 11 batters, but the Guardians' offense struggled to capitalize. Jo Adell hit an RBI triple in the eighth inning to bring Cleveland within one run, but Grant Taylor secured his second consecutive save to end the game. The series moves to Chicago for Game 3 on Wednesday, where the White Sox have an opportunity to clinch their first postseason series at home since 1906.
