Chicago's Shops at North Bridge Begins $40 Million Renovation
The Shops at North Bridge, a 678,000‑square‑foot retail center on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, will undergo a $40 million multi‑phase renovation. Owner Pacific Life and property manager Centennial Real Estate announced that construction will start this month, with the exterior façade slated for completion in 2027. The redesign includes a new glass façade with a backlit LED archway, upgraded lighting, digital directories, refreshed tenant signage, and enhanced wayfinding at the Michigan Avenue and Grand Avenue entrances.
Architect ParkFowler Plus is leading the design, which adds a hospitality‑inspired interior featuring a bar and lounge concept in the central atrium and a suspended sculptural installation. Nordstrom’s flagship store will remain the anchor tenant, and all retailers will stay open throughout the redevelopment. General contractor Bulley & Andrews and leasing firm CBRE are also part of the project team.
