Chicago's Wishbone Brunch Spot Announces Final Month of Service as Miami's Yardbird Southern Table Closes

Wishbone, a Southern‑inspired brunch restaurant founded in 1990 by Chef Joel Nickson and Julie Nickson, will close its West Loop location by the end of August 2026 after 36 years of operation. The owners announced the closure on social media, thanking loyal customers and staff and inviting guests to visit during the final weeks.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, a popular brunch venue on Miami Beach’s Lenox Avenue that opened in 2011, abruptly shut its doors on August 5. Patrons discovered farewell notices on the glass doors, while the restaurant’s online listings still displayed regular hours. The notice indicated the closure might be temporary, with plans to reopen in the future.
