Chicken gizzards offer high protein but contain high cholesterol
Chicken gizzards are a high-protein food source that also provides essential minerals, according to Muhammad Aries SP MSi, a nutritionist from IPB University. In a 100-gram serving of cooked chicken gizzards, there are approximately 30.4 grams of protein, 3.2 milligrams of iron, 1 microgram of vitamin B12, and 4.4 milligrams of zinc.
While these nutrients support functions such as tissue formation, red blood cell production, nerve function, and immune support, consumption should be moderated. Nutritionists warn that chicken gizzards contain high levels of cholesterol, which must be considered to maintain a balanced diet.
