Chiclana and Jerez announce local infrastructure and social support initiatives

In Chiclana de la Frontera, the Cádiz Provincial Council plans to transfer ownership of the El Marquesado road section to the local City Council. This transfer will be formalized through a collaboration agreement that includes budgetary provisions for infrastructure improvements.

Planned works include the installation of street lighting by the end of 2026, as well as potential upgrades to sidewalks, bike lanes, and asphalt. The project aims to materialize throughout 2027. Mayor José María Román noted that these improvements follow requests from local neighborhood associations.

In Jerez, the City Council has signed a collaboration agreement with the RedMadre Cádiz association. The agreement provides a direct subsidy of 8,000 euros for the 2025-2026 period to fund the 'Support Network for Families with Minors in Vulnerable Situations' project. This initiative provides essential food and hygiene supplies for infants of vulnerable women.
