Chiclana City Council requests five new taxi licenses

The Chiclana City Council has submitted a formal request to the Provincial Taxi Commission to authorize five new taxi licenses planned for this year. Mobility Delegate José Vera stated that the municipality is seeking urgency in the process, expressing hope that the licenses will be available by the Christmas season, as securing them for the summer period is no longer feasible.

The request follows a technical study submitted in March outlining the need for expansion. Chiclana currently operates with 52 licenses and aims to increase this number by 29 by the year 2030. The long-term plan includes adding five licenses in 2026, ten in 2027, five in 2028, five in 2029, and four in 2030 to address current service deficits caused by limited supply.
