Chiclana de la Frontera celebrates 150 years as a city
Chiclana de la Frontera is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its designation as a city. To commemorate the event, the local philatelic association, ODA, held an exhibition at the Casa de Cultura featuring 17 collections from various collectors in the province.
The exhibition included historical panels regarding late 19th-century Spain, period stamps, and vintage winery labels, reflecting the municipality's viticultural importance which contributed to its city status. The event also featured historical photographs showing the city's evolution.
As part of the celebration, the city's two Correos offices utilized a special commemorative postmark. Mayor José María Román and Correos Director Juan Diego Panés attended the closing ceremony, where diplomas were presented to participants. Due to its success, the exhibition remains open to the public through Friday.
