Chiclana population reaches 94,050 following significant growth
Chiclana has established itself as a highly dynamic city within the Bahía de Cádiz metropolitan area, recording a net gain of 967 residents during the first seven months of 2026. As of early August 2026, the city's population reached 94,050 inhabitants.
Data shows 2,198 new registrations against 1,296 departures. The influx is diverse, with residents arriving from 31 municipalities within the Cádiz province, 46 other Spanish provinces, and 51 different countries, including Samoa, Finland, and Bolivia.
More than half of the new residents from the Cádiz province originate from the Bahía area. Significant numbers of new inhabitants moved from San Fernando (340) and Cádiz (230), followed by Jerez (73), Conil (65), and Puerto Real (57). This growth contrasts with neighboring areas like San Fernando and El Puerto, which have seen stagnation, and the city of Cádiz, which has experienced population decline.
