Chiclayo storm drainage project announced with S/1,600 million investment

The National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN) and the Lambayeque Regional Government have presented the final project for a storm drainage system in Chiclayo. The project involves an investment exceeding S/1,600 million.

The infrastructure is designed to mitigate flood risks caused by intense rainfall and the El Niño phenomenon in the districts of Chiclayo, José Leonardo Ortiz, La Victoria, and Pimentel, benefiting over 630,000 residents. During the “ANIN Roadshow 2026,” officials noted that the technical file is complete, and the project is moving into the contracting phase to select the company or consortium responsible for execution.

Regional Governor Jorge Luis Pérez Flores expressed institutional support to ensure the project overcomes obstacles, while ANIN General Manager Sergio Iván Atarama Martínez emphasized that the proposal offers a definitive solution to the long-standing impact of heavy rains on local homes, schools, and health centers.
