Chico Pinheiro updates health status during cancer treatment

Journalist Chico Pinheiro, 73, provided an update on his health while undergoing treatment for intestinal cancer at Hospital do Coração (HCor) in São Paulo. He reported that he is currently in his 11th week of a 12-week chemotherapy cycle, following two previous surgeries.

In a video shared on social media, Pinheiro maintained a humorous tone, using internet slang such as “farmar aura” and performing the “six-seven” dance trend to express his optimism about recovery. He also used the opportunity to praise the quality of care received through the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), advocating for the democratization of high-quality medical treatment for all citizens.

Pinheiro originally revealed his diagnosis in May during an interview with singer Zeca Baleiro. He noted that while the tumor was identified in an early stage, he faced complications during a robotic surgery that required an ICU stay.
