Chicoloapan extortionist sentenced to 40 years in prison

Cristhian Uzziel Pérez Martínez has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for extortion in Chicoloapan, State of Mexico. The sentencing follows an incident on April 14, 2025, where Pérez Martínez threatened a woman, stating he would “kidnap” one of her children if she did not immediately provide 5,000 pesos in cash.

Following the threat, the victim attempted to meet the perpetrator on Doroteo Arango Street to deliver a partial payment. Police officers alerted to the situation apprehended Pérez Martínez in flagrante delicto. He was subsequently transferred to the Texcoco Penitentiary Center, where a judge issued the 40-year sentence based on evidence presented by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office.
