Chidimma Adetshina challenges deportation in Cape Town court

Former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina and her minor son are facing deportation proceedings by South Africa's Department of Home Affairs. She was arrested on 6 June 2026 and earlier declared a prohibited person in December 2024, with the department alleging fraudulent documents and unlawful re‑entry via the Lebombo border.

On 16 July 2026 Adetshina appeared before the Cape Town Regional Court to submit an affidavit outlining the steps she claims to have taken to regularise her immigration status. The court will consider the affidavit alongside the department's submissions before deciding the next stage of the deportation case.
