Chief Cletus Udebuani alleges threats to life in Anambra State
Chief Cletus Udebuani, the former President General of the Amichi Community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, has appealed for urgent intervention following alleged threats to his life. In a letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and various high-ranking police and state officials, Udebuani claimed that certain individuals are targeting him due to development projects initiated during his tenure.
Udebuani stated that the threats stem from his refusal to allow community development projects, specifically the construction of new plazas at the Amichi New Market, to be converted into private estates. He noted that following the end of his administration, a caretaker committee was appointed by the Anambra State Government to manage community affairs due to a court order preventing new elections.
He maintains that he fully rendered his account of stewardship, including bank statements, to the government-appointed committee and that all market construction projects were conducted with the cooperation of relevant authorities and stakeholders.
