Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh outlines Melaka local authority reforms and community outreach

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh called on the four local authorities (PBT) of Melaka to strengthen asset management, raise service quality, accelerate the smart‑city agenda and keep the urban environment clean, orderly and safe before the 2026 deadline. He stressed reviewing all municipal assets – buildings, markets, parks and other public spaces – and tightening standard operating procedures after a recent stray‑animal capture incident, urging better equipment, training and record‑keeping for all enforcement actions.

Yusoh also highlighted the ongoing WRUR (Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat) and Jelajah Ketua Menteri programmes, now in their 25th series, aimed at bringing elected representatives closer to residents. The latest tour in Pengkalan Batu resolved eight community issues, including RM2,200 in food kits for 11 families, repairs to five dilapidated houses, construction of a new house worth about RM100,000 through Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s Baiti Jannati scheme, and a RM20,000 donation to Masjid An‑Nikmah.
