Chiefs rugby club launches prostate cancer awareness campaign

The Chiefs rugby club has launched a prostate cancer awareness campaign to encourage men to discuss the disease and understand their risks. The initiative follows the diagnosis of 78-year-old Rowe and the death of Cowling.

To support the cause, the club will promote Prostate Cancer UK’s 30-second online risk checker through posters at Sandy Park and messages on the stadium’s big screen. The campaign aims to highlight high-risk groups, including men over 50, those with a family history of the disease, and Black men, who face a one-in-four risk.

A dedicated day of action is scheduled for the Investec Champions Cup fixture against Stade Rochelais on January 9. Current players Ethan Roots and Jack Yeandle have pledged their support, and the club is selling OddBalls boxer short bundles to raise funds.
